Derek A Lamb, ACIArb, Dip CII, is principal of the company, started his career in 1973.
During his career, which has spanned over 40 years, Derek has worked for one of Britain’s largest Loss-Assessing companies where he gained vast experience across all disciplines of claim preparation. Derek was involved in several of the largest losses to have occurred in the UK history, and in recognition of his expert service Derek’s meeting with HRH Prince Charles has certainly provided a real highlight.
Derek is a member of The Chartered Insurance Institute and the Birmingham Insurance Institute, where he held various positions within the BII throughout his career including positions on the BII Main Council for over 10 years. During Derek’s BII Presidential year, he raised funds for the Birmingham University Cancer Studies Department, sufficient to enable the purchase of a Fluidics Wash machine.
In 2005, Derek was elected President of the Institute, being the only ‘pure’ Loss Assessor to have ever held that position nationally. Derek is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
In March 2011, Derek was awarded the Distinguish Service Medal by the Chartered Insurance Institute for his service to the CII, both nationally and locally. He received his medal from CII President Mr Julian James and is the first Loss Assessor to receive this award.
